If the New York Times thinks that columnist David Brooks is a “conservative” who balances the overwhelmingly Angry Left bias of its editorial and op-ed pages, it had better think again.

In a March 2007 column, “No U-Turns,” Brooks urged the Republican Party to distance itself from its fundamental limited-government, conservative principles. He argued that these outdated concepts are no longer mainstream...

This is just too good.

Many of you know that in a few days the federal ban on conventional incandescent light bulbs will go into effect. And while House Republicans included a provision in a recent spending bill that will block funding for the ban’s enforcement, it’s said that it will have little effect; manufacturers have prepared for the new standards and will no doubt abide by the law. So does this mean we’ll be forced to buy more expensive LED (light emitting diode) or CFL (compact...

Paulestinians (aka - rabid Ron Paul fanatics) have a full-court-press on for the upcoming Iowa Caucus, as if winning Iowa makes one a lock to win the eventual GOP primary. Iowa has a distinguished history of getting it wrong most of the time.

In 2008, Iowa chose Mike Huckabee for their GOP nominee and gave John McCain a 13% fourth place finish, which was still above Ron Paul who won only 10% in Iowa last time. John McCain went on to become the GOP nominee.

In 2004, Iowa...

The recent passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the reaction--or better, lack of reaction--by the GOP’s Presidential candidates is a perfect example of how it will not matter to a Tinker’s Dam which Republican candidate wins the nomination, unless that candidate is Congressman Ron Paul. This is what so many people within the so-called Religious Right and establishment GOP just do not understand: they do not understand the fact that America is in the throes of a burgeoning...

A law has been enacted by the DC city council not only requiring that must most forms of rodentine vermin be captured for rerelease, but that they must also be relocated as family units.

These creatures are not a pod of whales, a herd of elephants, or a troop of gorillas.

Given that they will even eat their young and produce another liter a few months or weeks later, I doubt they form deep meaningful bonds with their offspring.

The same fanatics that don't...

We were so full of “hope” for “change.” No, I am not talking about the election of Barack Obama, one of the most effective Progressive presidents in American history. I am speaking of the excitement felt within the Conservative, Libertarian and Center Right and Left political communities after the 2010 election delivered the House and a non-filibuster proof Senate to the American people. Finally, most of us thought, some balance in the federal government. Maybe, just maybe, the Progressives and Liberal...

How restricting the promotion of "off-label" pharmaceutical use puts doctors and patients at risk

The ability of physicians to prescribe approved medicines for purposes not sanctioned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is one of the most important elements of medical care in the United States. These “off-label” uses are perfectly legal, and doctors rely on them extensively. But the agency views off-label prescribing as an attempt to circumvent its control over...

“In 1919, Georg Lukacs became Deputy Commissar for Culture in the short-lived Bolshevik Bela Kun regime in Hungary. He immediately set plans in motion to de-Christianize Hungary. Much confusion reigns today because we think in terms of a left-right dichotomy. Communism is on the left we are told to believe and Fascism comes from the right, while people and parties are called either "leftist" or "rightist." Adding to the confusion, Liberals believe absolutely...

It is important to make sure that one has auto insurance. In many states liability insurance is required and one must show proof of insurance before one can license a vehicle or renew one’s driver’s license. There can be a substantial penalty if one does not have the proper insurance including fines, driver’s license suspension, and having one’s car impounded.

An easy remedy is to obtain an auto insurance quote from Farmers Insurance. Their agents can find exactly the right type of coverage that is required in one’s state. Although insuring an automobile may be required by law, it does not mean that one must pay an unnecessarily large premium for coverage. Farmers Insurance is the right place to find the right coverage.
