The corruption of the UN is a common theme among its detractors. However, the true nature of the UN is not merely corrupt or petulant; it is outright subversive. In his book, THE BEAST ON THE EAST RIVER (Nelson Current, October 31, 2006), Nathan Tabor, founder and editor of TheConservativeVoice.com, lays bare the UN agenda. The agenda in question is one of power, and the sources of that power are its member nations. Presently, the UN has no power base of its own-in order to create one, it must first undermine the sovereignty of member states.

• The United Nations' attempts to become financially independent. This largely unaccountable bureaucracy wishes to become completely self-sustaining, and they want your dollars to fund their perpetual-motion machine. A one-cent tax on every 100 emails would net a yearly gross income of $70 billion.
• The final step for UN dominance on the international scale, and how surprisingly close the bureaucrats are to setting their agenda in motion: raising a standard army. With a steady flow of revenue, and a military, the United Nations would be in a position to exert pressure on its member nations, rather than the other way around.
• The path from "facilitator of conflicts on the international scale" to untrammeled global government: the original concept of the UN, and the reality of the organization today
• The one course of action that can without a doubt, bring Turtle Bay's bureaucracy to heel and ensure the primacy of US interests-like many desired outcomes, the most difficult part will be summoning sufficient willpower on the part of our elected (and unelected) officials

At the close of Operation Desert Storm, a jubilant George H. W. Bush spoke of the coming of the "new world order," which would be marked by an unprecedented degree of cooperation between nation-states. If the United Nations has its way, the new world order will be remembered not for cooperation, but rather for coercion, bullying, and power politics of the worst kind. The United Nations seeks lay the foundation of its own independence with the headstone of state sovereignty. It is vital that concerned citizens be apprised of the situation before it is too late.
