It was bound to happen, but Santa and his merry elves probably never expected Rudolph Rudolf to go down this way.

The Danish Air Force paid the equivalent of $5,000 to a part-time Santa Claus after his reindeer died of a heart attack when two F-16 fighter jets roared over his farm.

There was no word as to what Santa was doing away from the North Pole this close to December, but global warming may have contributed to the issue.

Mrs. Santa Claus was unavailable for comment, though we reckon the Red Nose Reindeer Association of Copenhagen isn’t going to take this sitting down.
