With all the bluster and rhetoric coming out of Iran-- particularly its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who makes even North Korea's Kim Jong Il look like a shriveling sissy-- it's no surprise the Pentagon-- known for making plans for everything including a comet hitting the planet-- is making preparations for a heavy campaign of bombing that would send Iran (at least its nuclear facilities) back to the stone age; a "last resort" if all the efforts fail to block Tehran's efforts to develop nuclear capabilities that could result in an atomic bomb.

Pentagon planners are said to be identifying targets, making assessments on weapon loads and capabilities, as well as logistics for an operation.

The Sunday Telegraph reports of a senior Pentagon adverser saying that "This is more than just the standard military contingency assessment. This has taken on much greater urgency in recent months."

Of course, all this is under the assumption that Israel doesn't beat them to the punch first.
