“Russian Weapon Caused Katrina:” Conspiracy Theory or Fact?

Ever wondered how Mother Nature seems to be extra irate these days?

The planet’s taking a record beating from weather-borne phenomena, and everyone’s blaming it on global warming, coincidence and even George Bush himself.

But there’s growing talk about how the stuff of movies-- that of secret experiments on controlling the weather-- are not too farfetched, and that a flurry of the most furious of storms lately can be attributed to… the Russians.

They say a group of the former KGB hardliners took over a secret weather control weapon developed by the former Soviet military, and manipulated weather in a way that caused severe storms that resulted in the likes of Hurricane Katrina and Wilma.

There have also been talk about the Yakuza being part of the mix, getting hold of the device and using it to spread devastating in the U.S. Their motive? Such cataclysmic events would naturally wreak havoc short term on any country’s financial system and they intended to take advantage of it by shorting energy and oil stocks, betting against these companies and making a killing in the process.

What’s interesting is because a retired Army Lieutenant, Col. Thomas Bearden, allegedly said the Russians have been doing this and fooling around with the U.S. weather patterns since 1976.

Sounds like an episode of Alias. Where's Sydney Bristow when you need her?!

Seems like that Arvin Sloan(e) guy's at it again. Or maybe Dr. Evil; see that's Mini-me's grin right there.

Interesting thing about it though is because a lot of people really take this seriously, with very plausible explanations that would put alien abductees to shame, and with all but scientific proof to boot.
