Nikolai Sazhin, a 19-year-old mathematics student from Siberia, has just been crowned world champion, successfully overthrowing defending champion Frank “Anti Terror” Stoldt of Germany in the light heavyweight world championship bout.
Sazhin, who fought under the moniker “The President,” knocked out 37-year-old Stoldt, a riot policeman in Berlin who until recently worked as a peacekeeper in Kosovo.
Stoldt attributed his loss to being “too punch-drunk” to ward off Sazhin’s advances.
“I took a lot of body-blows in the fourth round and that affected my concentration. That's why I made a big mistake in the fifth round: I did not see him coming for my king.''
