Russia Witnesses First Chessboxing Event

The Siberian Chessboxing Organization recently held the first chessboxing match in Krasnoyarsk in front of spectators numbering more than 500.

Evgeniy Lykhta became the first Russian middleweight division chessboxer to win by TKO against Vitali Degtjarew, who succumbed to Lykhta's punches in round 4. In the heavyweight division, Sergeij Ychenko came out victorious after opponent Viktor Tarasov chess time had run out in the tenth round. The first lightweight division champion Egor Dolgatchev emerged the winner after challenger Galiakhmetov threw in the towel in the seventh boxing round.
