'American Idol' gives the boot to Paris
 

Paris Bennett's elimination on Wednesday's "American Idol" leaves the show with four strong contenders -- and minus one strong voice.

The problem with Princess P wasn't her powerhouse singing. It was more of a personality issue. Although she was cute, sweet and polite to the max, she also could seem as preprogrammed as a Stepford teen.

In other news, Elliott Yamin landed in the bottom two. But there's still hope for him, because he's becoming more and more comfortable onstage.

And during the show, Ryan Seacrest told the contestants that a private jet was waiting to take them to Graceland for a private session with Mariah Carey's ex-husband, Tommy Mottola.
